Palolem is a large famous beach located in south Goa close to the town of Canacona. Palolem was once a deserted beach where one could enjoy serene beauty. The beach had a few huts and shacks and a couple of resorts nearby. Palolem beach is located at a distance of 40 kms. from Margao. Over time the beach became a tourist attraction as word spread. Close to Palolem is Butterfly beach. Tourists at Palolem usually hire a boat to take them to butterfly beach.
Today it is a hot tourist attraction. The beach has numerous shacks, beach huts, shops, restaurants, and resorts to cater to the increasingly large number of foreign tourists who come here every year. The beach can be reached by bus from Margao. However the beat way to explore this place is by hiring your personal vehicle, preferably a bike which are readily available in Goa.
