Coco beach is located at the mouth of the Mandovi river opposite to the Panaji bank. The beach is home to a local fishing community who can regularly be seen hauling nets and boats along the beach especially in the mornings. Located close to the beach is the Reis Magos church and the Reis Magos fort. The beach is located at a distance of 5 kms. from Panaji and 14 kms. from Mapusa.
A short distance away from the beach one can find many tour boats anchored in the bay at the mouth of the Nerul river. These are used by operators to take tourists on dolphin sighting tours. The tour route stretches from the bay right up to the base of Aguada fort and offers a great view of Aguada fort, Aguada prison and the lighthouse. Coco beach can reached from Mapusa and Panaji by taking a bus to Nerul. However the frequency of buses is low.
